The Southwest Chess Club meets every Thursday night from 6:00 PM in the town of Hales Corners, Wisconsin.  We meet at the Hales Corners Village Hall (downstairs), at 5635 So. New Berlin Road.  Here is a map to the club.

Our club sponsors two weekend tournaments each year.  The upcoming Hales Corners Challenge VII will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2008.  The tournament is held in our usual club location.   Mark your calendar also for HCC-VIII, to be held on Oct. 4, 2008.

We also recently co-sponsored a FIDE-rated event, together with Midwest Chess Adventures (MCA).  The event was held March 8-9, in the SWCC club meeting room.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We have a Blog that shows current club news, and you are invited to contribute information, games, and any items of interest!  Also, two of our club members have created active blogs:  Ivan Wijetunge has a popular blog with current news, games, and interesting posts.  Souvik Roychoudhuri has started a blog that has games and news from our club and the Waukesha club.  Check them out!

Join us to play rated tournament  games, blitz, or some skittles. There is always a game to be had! Think you are good? There are some players here that might teach you a thing or two! Not that good? We have players of all ratings and experience levels who are always willing to help you improve your game.  In the summer, we have a full schedule of lectures right before the games begin.  Watch for announcements!

The US Chess Federation provides results of our completed events online.  The crosstables contain complete pre- and post- ratings of all participants.

Our club maintains a very large library of Chess Books, Chess Videos, and Chess DVDS (click on each link for a full list).  Club members can check out these titles for 3 weeks at a time.  For books, see Andrew Grochowski after you have filled out this form, and he will bring in your book the following week.  For DVDs (3-week rental, $3) and Videos (3-week rental, $2), see Robin Grochowski, who will bring it in the following week.

Sound like fun?  Stop by anytime and meet the friendly people of the Southwest Chess Club.  For more information, you may contact any of the tournament Directors by phone or email:
