Muirdale sanatorium, Wauwatosa WI, a suburb of Milwaukee.

I'm presenting a selection of pictures from different views for the benefit of former patients. They can then pull up a picture and tell their children, or grandchildren, about spending 3 or 4 years looking out of the window of their room. There is a lot of time for looking out the window when you are a patient in a TB sanatorium.

West Cottage 1918 This was one of two similar buildings for patients. Both were torn down about 1996.	South View My room, yellow border.	Sunroom Tower These circular rooms held 8 to 10 patients. It was almost impossible to sleep there because of the snoring and hacking coughing. Another chap and I begged to be moved, and got out of the tower in about two weeks.
Front Entrance	Gateway to Treatment Looks inviting, doesn't it? Your home away from home.	Left Front The building is now part of the Milwaukee County Research Park, and houses start-up businesses.
Entrance Is that a new patient arriving? Not really, workers were tuckpointing bricks the the day these were taken. All were shot in October 2001.	Right Front Tower	Long View
Indian Mounds The mounds in the foreground are Indian burial mounds.
