Welcome to the latest & up-to-date information about the band you love, LUKYN SKYWYRD!!  Thanks for all the support!

                                                   -Keith

9/02/08   As of today, the website can be accessed at its new address:

www.NorthernBredSouthernRock.com

The old address of www.LUKYNSKYWYRD.COM will still work for the time being but I would like to start promoting the new address.  For some odd reason, people can't seem to spell Lukyn Skywyrd.  Hmmm.....

See you at the show!

8/31/08   Many, many, thanks to all of our good friends and fans who have made this a rockin' successful summer.  Between Summerfest and the HARLEY-DAVIDSON 105th celebration, this has been one of my most memorable seasons of my life.  Playing on that Briggs stage for the 105th was awesome!  A sea of bikers for as far as the eye can see!  Why do we have to wait for another 5 years to do this again?!?

We got to be one of the opening acts for Los Lonely Boys and boy, did they rock the house!  Thanks to a backstage pass from earlier in the day, I was able to meet Henry, JoJo, and Ringo.  What a group for extremely down-to-earth guys!  They even caught part of our show and said it sounded great!

Thanks Jewlz for coming out and singing those bluesy backups. You rock, girl!  Thanks to Rick, our stage manager at Briggs, and all the other guys behind the scenes on the stage.  Thank you, Vic Thomas, for having me and the guys back at Summerfest and HD 105th after all these years.  Thank you Emac, Dane, SuzyQ, Lucy, Shain, Phil, Tammy, Biker Jim, Matt, Shane, and everyone else for all the support you have shown.  You are all the reason we keep doing this!

Finally, I must announce that Matt Liesman, our drummer, will be leaving the band in September because a baby is on the way!!  We wish Matt all the best and hope he gets enough sleep in the next couple of months 'cause he's gonna need it!  Matt has one more gig with us and then, we'll put him on stork watch.  Thanks, Matt for the past year.  You really got this thing rollin' and wish you best of luck!

Starting on September 27th at Knuckleheads, we will welcome new drummer, Chad Stein into the fold.  Check him out!  You will not be disappointed!

See you at the show!

5/15/08   At the last minute, our good friends in the Whiskey Highway Band had to cancel a show at Liquor Sweets on south 13th Street.  We will be filling in for them tomorrow.  This a great venue with an awesome stage.  We will be filming and recording the show for an upcoming promotional DVD.  We will, also, have a few guest appearances from Whiskey Highway.   This night will be jammin'!

On Saturday, its off to Eagle, WI to play Knuckleheads.  We were told WLUM 102.1 will be broadcasting from the bar but I have not seen it listed on their website.  We will have to see.  It looks like a great weekend to get on your bikes and ride so when you do, come rock Southern Style with LUKYN SKYWYRD!

See you at the show!

4/23/08   Wow!  What a turnout at Rookies!  Thanks to everybody for a great night!  Despite the fact that Matt got a hold of a  bad batch of chili con carne and was looking green for most of the night, our drummer stayed the course and rocked the night away. (At least until he called Ralph on the white telephone!)  He came back to really giver during the encore.  Amazing!

Please check out the new photos on the Pictures page.  I still have a few more shows to do but at least I got some up there!

Also, new merchandise is now available!  We've added a new design, baby dolls, and even thongs!  Go check it out!

See you at the show!

4/18/08   ALL RIGHT, ALL RIGHT!  I'm back online with the laptop containing all the website files, no thanks to the Geek Squad at Best Buy!!  Two motherboards, one new keyboard, and four returns to the store finally get the computer back up to working speed. Or should I say, slow speed now.  The new updates they installed now require me to get more memory to run at the same speed it did before I gave it to them.  What a bunch of crap!

So, anywho...  Who is ready for spring to arrive so we can get rockin' Southern style?  I know we are!  We've got a bunch of cool stuff comin' up in the next few months so keep checking out the website.  Yeah, yeah, I know, "you never update the news!"  Well, here I am!  Enough already!

We'll be stompin' out to Rookies tomorrow and then next week we'll be at  a new place called the Fire Escape.

See you at the show!

1/11/08   Happy New Year from VEGAS, baby!!  Just had a week of looking at all of the cool new electronics at the CES show.  I just have to get that 150" plasma!!

So after two weeks of having our music played on internet radio, WWW.ALLSOUTHERNROCK.COM , we scored 4 #1 hits in the Top 10 played songs of the week!!!!  Everyone of the four songs being played hit #1 at some time in the last two weeks.  At one time, we held the top 4 spots!  As of right now, Southbound Train is still at #1!  Thank you, Brad and All Southern Rock radio!  It is still an unbelievable feeling.  Thanks to everyone out there for requesting our songs and keep requesting them!   We can put the songs back on the charts.

Because of our airplay, we have had requests from another internet station and a couple of FM radio stations in Europe!  When I get back to Wisconsin, I will be sending the songs ASAP.  As soon as I get confirmation of airplay, I'll let you know.

I never thought I would get into MySpace.  Boy, was I wrong!  I've reworked our MySpace page and have been gaining friends like crazy!  What a great way to network with people all over the country and the world!  Between the radio airplay and MySpace, people all over the globe have heard of LUKYN SKYWYRD.  Check out the revamped page at www.myspace.com/lukynskywyrd .

While I was at the CES, I had the opportunity to meet and talk with Steve 'GRITS' Grisham from Ghostriders and the Outlaws!  What a great guy!  He is very down to earth and we talked for a long time.  He even brought up putting together a show in Milwaukee.  Afterwards, I chatted with him online and he happened to be listening to our music!  I will hopefully line up some show in the future.

See you at the show!

12/27/07   Merry Christmas, Y'all!  Just received the best present I could expect this year.  Brad, from All Southern Rock, an independent Southern rock internet radio station, dropped me an email saying we are in the playlist rotation!  So everybody needs to go to www.AllSouthernRock.com and request our songs!  Its got great independent Southern rock bands from all over the country playing 24/7.  Check it out, now!

12/11/07   What the heck is going on?  I return from Florida to get back in time for the last two gigs and winter has come with a vengeance!  I don't think its stopped snowing since I got back.  And speaking of the last two gigs, they certainly turned out great!

Upon walking into the Elkhorn Saloon, we were met with a stage fit for Mini-Me.  But after scaling back the system, we came out with a darn good sounding mix!  What a fun crowd!  Thanks for the kind words, Carol! :)  I hope we can get back soon because that was a fun gig.  Our calendar is getting pretty full for next year.

With the snow starting up just before we got to Snappers, I thought it would be a bad night.  Just the opposite.  The place got packed.  But as the snow continued, the crowd cleared out, probably wanting to get home before it got too bad.  All in all, it was just different that night.

Oh, yeah, go, El Numero Quatro! (Little Spanish lingo there)  All you Cowgirls fans know the Pack would have kicked your A$$ if the whole team would have been healthy.  That's my $0.02

See you @ the show!

11/18/07   The Pack is 9-1!!  All hail, Number 4!  What a rockin' season we Packers fans are having!  Let's just keep riding this wave of winning as long as we can.  This is fantastic!

Rookies turned out just as predicted.  Thanks to all the fans for coming out to Okauchee and making this gig a success.  I got to meet a lot of new and returning fans alike.  Because of your support, we have gotten confirmation on another gig for next year.

Yesterday, we had our new photo shoot with an awesome photographer from Maximus Photography, Dan Zainer.  If you need affordable but quality photography for your wedding, family portrait, or whatever, GIVE THIS GUY A CALL!  He is very professional and very personable.  He, also, came out to Rookies and took some great shots of the show.  You'll start seeing some his work up on this website very soon.

Have a very safe and enjoyable Thanksgiving, everybody!  Give thanks for everything we have in this country and thank the creator for giving us the USA!!

We'll see you all in December at the show!

11/08/07   Well, from the scuttle-butt out on the streets, it looks like this Friday at Rookies is going to be a killer show.  In fact, so many people are looking forward to going to this show, it actually hurt the turnout at Headquarters last week.  We've got a professional photographer scheduled to come out and take some action shots so put on your best game face and remember to SMILE!

Next week, that same photographer, we'll call him Dan (because that's his name), will be bringing the band into his studio for a full photo shoot.  We'll get some of those promotional shots up on the website as soon as they are available.

And speaking of the website, it is constantly going through tweaks and updating.  I've added a couple of mini-polls which by now you've seen on the homepage.  They cycle through different ones so keep checking back often.

If you haven't signed up for the mailing list, do so now on the homepage.  The first newsletter has been sent out so don't miss another one!  Act now to keep up-to-date on the latest news!

See you at the show!

10/14/07   Just sitting here soaking in another squeaker of a victory by my Green Bay Packers.  Man, if only they could have beat those freaking Bears!  Either way, BEARS STILL SUCK!!

Well, what can I say?  The success of the last three weeks has been just phenomenal!  Silver Lake Inn was a new gig for us and I'd like to thank all the new people we met out there.  I'm sure this venue will become even more successful in the coming months.

Wow!  Snappers was just great!  Its not the old bar that I played 4 years ago.  No, no.  This is the new Snappers just outside of Germantown.  Thanks goes out to Snapper herself (Kristen) for giving us the opportunity to come back and rock the place.  Again, I saw old fans I haven't seen for 2 years.  Great to see you again, Joe!  And you too, Frank!  The consensus is that this band is just as kick ass as ever and its like we never left.  That's a testimony to these players.  Also, check out the pictures section to see some new pics of the gig.

There are a couple of new dates on the calendar, so be sure to make note.  A new feature under beta testing is the ability to receive our calendar through an RSS feed.  This will allow you to keep our dates right on your Yahoo!, AOL, or Google homepage.  Its also available through any RSS feed reader.  Check it out and give me some feedback on how its working.

We've got a couple weeks off and then, we'll be heading up to The Kickback in Manitowoc and a week later, Headquarters.  See you at the show!

10/01/07 -   Great big THANK YOU to all our fans, friends, and family for making our first gig back a rousing success!  Headquarters was packed with many old and new friends alike.  I haven't seen some of you for over 2 years and it sure felt great to be back.

Many of the folks at HQ said our gig reminded them of the old days when the place was always rocking.  Well, we plan on being one of the bands that brings that feeling back!  And often!!

Big shout out to my cousins, Rick & Nick, for coming out and partying hard.  Atta boy, Luther!!  Good to see the guy we affectionately call, "The Screamer" out in the audience.  We love you, man!  You don't know how much it means to hear you say we sound a good as ever.  Hey, T!  You were out after 8pm and you didn't turn into a pumpkin!!  Thanks for coming! :)  And everybody else, thanks again for making this return extra special.  See you at the next show!

09/28/07 -   This is it, folks!  Tomorrow is the first gig on the road back.  And, its at Headquarter Bar, of all places.  That bar is one of the first gigs the original LUKYN SKYWYRD ever had.  Tommy took a chance on us and we've been playing there for over 15 years!!  Or, I should say, "I" have.  These new guys are ready to rock there for the first time.

Its a shame Tommy passed away two years ago.  We'll be thinking about him and we dedicate this one for you, Tommy!  R.I.P.

09/12/07 -   Well, this weekend we had a dress rehearsal practice in my driveway.  I got the truck out of the barn, hooked everything up, & we played to the neighbors.  I wanted to make sure everything worked the way it should, and the system fired right up with no problems whatsoever.  Not bad for being in storage for two years.

Everybody said the new band sounded great.  We even had some people walk over from two blocks away after they heard us start playing.  Jason finally got a little taste of what its like to play in front of people.  In two weeks, he'll really know what its like!  C'ya then....

08/30/07 -

In case you haven't heard yet, WE'RE BACK!!!!  Yes, ladies & gentlemen, boys & girls, and gifted animals!  LUKYN SKYWYRD is back to deliver its brand of Northern bred Southern rock & roll.  Its been a long time coming but the box in the corner labeled 'lukyn skywyrd' has been dusted off, opened up, and polished up, looking good as new.

"Why did the band break-up?", you ask.  Well, why is the sky blue?  Why is the grass green?  Why do the Brewers suck again?  It just is, what it is!  Let's just give the standard response, "Creative differences" caused our breakup.  God bless 'em, even though they had to "breakaway", I wish those guys good luck.

But that's in the past.  Here comes the future.  I found the right people at the right time.   I took the time to clear my head and its done me good.

So come on out and see the next chapter in the ongoing saga of the LUKYN SKYWYRD band.

See you at the show!

-Keith
