APRSPlus is written specifically for the Windows 32 bit
environment (Win 95 or NT) by Brent Hildebrand KH2Z. It was the first APRS
program to use high resolution maps. Brent found a way to exploit the mapping
data from Delorme Street Altas USA.
MACAPRS came next, written by Mark Sproul (KB2ICI) and Keith
Sproul (WU2Z). They latter converted (ported) the program over to the Windows
environment. Both versions first used the same DOS based maps from DOSAPRS.
Now, they have linked into Chicago Mapping Corps. Precision Mapping Streets
3.0 program. This has greatly enhanced the maps and look of the program.
Written by Bob Bruninga WB4APR. It operates in the DOS environment,
and will run on almost any IBM compatible machine (yes a 386 20 MHz will do
nicely). But who uses DOS anymore?
