During a pass, you will be far to busy to think
and write down callsigns and UTC times.
I record all my passes on this tape recorder. Before each pass, I record the
Satellite name, UTC date and time on the tape. I give a countdown to an exact
and easy time... "At the mark it will be 11:05 UTC... five, four, three,
two, one MARK". Then DO NOT stop the tape, let it continue to roll and
plug in the audio from you receiver.
After the pass, rewind the tape and start a stopwatch at your time "mark" on the tape. Let the tape roll and log all your QSO's. Write down the time on the stopwatch by each QSO as you log the tape. After the tape is done playing, go back and ADD your "Mark" time to the stopwatch time of each QSO, this will give you the exact UTC time of each QSO for your log.
