
Tracking Satellites while portable is easy with
a PALM.
I use PocketSat. It does a great job on the LEO sats, but can not handle AO-10
or AO-40.

The path of the satellite is plotted as the dotted white line. When a satellite is above your horizon, it is shown as a flashing yellow dot. Each blue "ring" represents 30 degrees of elevation above the horizon. The center of the display would be 90 degrees, or directly over head.
