Welcome Students and Parents

This website has been created to serve as a valuable learning resource for Atwater School's sixth grade students and their parents.  Within this website you will find links to assist you with homework, projects, and other activities.  The sixth grade website also serves as a communication link between students, parents, and teachers.  Updates will frequently occur so check back often.  Of course, if you have any suggestions or comments you may click on the link at the bottom of each web page to email Mr. Hamann.  Enjoy!

Mission Statement

My mission as a teacher is to empower each of my students to reach their full potential.  To reach that potential, I will pass on my knowledge of the world around me, listen with empathy, and work to build upon their individual strengths.   I will treat each student with dignity, respect, and understanding.  By treating each child as a unique individual, I will foster a warm and positive learning environment and encourage my students to celebrate successes with joy and treat failures positively as opportunities for personal growth. I will maintain high expectations of my students and myself.  Through my years I will continue my love of learning and impart that passion to all of my students.

Inspirational Quote of the Month

"In a few hundred years, when the history of our time will be written from a long-term perspective, it is likely that the most important event historians will see is not technology, not the Internet, not e-commerce. It is an unprecedented change in the human condition. For the first time - literally - substantial and rapidly growing numbers of people have choices. For the first time, they will have to manage themselves. And society is totally unprepared for it."
