
Mr. Hamann was born in Juneau, Alaska and grew up in Santa Rosa, California. He graduated from the University of Alaska Southeast in 1997 where he earned his Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. In 1998 Mr. Hamann graduated from the Jim Evan's Academy of Professional Umpiring. In 2005 he earned a Master's Degree in Education with a focus on Integrating Technology in the Curriculum from Walden University. Mr. Hamann taught fifth grade for four years and has been a sixth grade teacher for two years teaching math, science, and spelling.
Away from school, Mr. Hamann enjoys spending time with his wife, Sandy, a fourth grade teacher at Atwater School. Together, they enjoy traveling around Wisconsin and the rest of the United States. Mr. Hamann pursues many interests outside of teaching including: playing golf, exploring the outdoors, and spending time with family and friends. He has a passion for baseball and loves anything related to baseball history. Mr. Hamann is a Master baseball official and football official licensed by Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association. He is also member of the Wisconsin Umpires Association.
Among other things, Mr. Hamann has been a teen health promoter and has taught a number of umpire clinics for high school baseball and NCAA softball officials. Most of all though, he enjoys teaching his sixth graders because they come to school each day with a lot of energy and enthusiasm toward their learning.
