#3159 - PAT JACKSON
SURNAMES: JACKSON, JOHNSON, GIBSON, BENNETT
I am researching the familly of the Rev. John JACKSON, a Weslyan minister who served in several parishes in Lincs. He was Louth in 1826, Spilsby in 1828, Alford in 1830 and Epworth in 1832, Sleaford in 1843, Wainfleet in 1846. He had a daughter, Caroline who was born in Alford. Can you imagine doing all that flitting by horse and cart? The other family is that of John and Diana [Dinah] JOHNSON, nee GIBSON in or near Leadenham but seemly coming from Wellingore area. John JOHNSON was dead by the time their daughter Mary [b 1837] was married in Sheffield in 1866. There were likely a couple of siblings as the 1881 census for Sheffield lists a Johnson familly as living with Charles and Mary BENNETT [nee Johnson] who gave their p.o.b as Wellingore, Lincs. #3191 - GAYLE LIVINGSTONE
SURNAME: BOYCE
I have recently found out my great, great, great, great grandfather was the Reverend Gilbert BOYCE of The Coningsby Baptist Church. I just wondered if anyone might have any access to information on him. Perhaps his wife's name or who his parents were? I believe Reverend BOYCE was quite prominent in the Baptist Church and was a "Messenger of the Churches" for the Lincolnshire association of general Baptists. This would be back in the late 1700's as he died in 1800. He apparently was Reverend at the Coningsby Baptist Church for over 50 years. I tried contacting that church but the email wouldn't go through on their website. I was hoping they may even have a picture of him. I would appreciate anything anyone may find out about him.

#3197 - SOPHIE AND IAN SKAITH
From researching the 1861 Canadian Census data we have established that the Skaith families that we are looking for came to Canada from England in the 1850's, because they first appear in the 1861 census. We believe that John SKAITH had a brother (or cousin) named William SKAITH because in the 1861 census their households are next to each other in St. James ward (Toronto, ON). We have located them on microfiche. It was one household per page complete with signature. Each family filled out their own form and there are some inconsistencies especially around age. We were able to trace a John SKAITH marriage in Hibaldstow to the Marriage Index 1849-Apr-May-Jun District Glanford Brigg, Vol 14, P 595. We were also able to trace a William SKAITH marriage in Hibaldstow to the Index 1847-District Glanford Brigg, Vol 14, P 603. We believe that the dates of these marriages correspond with their age, and that they might be related because of the proximity of their households in Canda and because of the close date and place of their marriages in England. The records of LDS has these 2 men marrying different women than the ones I have in the Canadian census. I trust the Canadian census more than the LSD records, but still it gets confusing.
