HUNT, and James and John Robert LAWES, nephews, all of 42 College St., Cleethorpes (a/o1931). Dora CLARK, Edna May & Hilda LAWES also of Cleethorpes (a/o1931), were great-nieces of R. HUNT. Arthur BINNS was also a nephew of R. HUNT. Robert HUNT was my great grandfather.

The arms used by him appear to establish him with the family of ELY of Lincolnshire and Yorkshire and also to the Earls of Lincoln. I cannot verify this data as it was compiled in Montclair, N.J. in 1909 by Daniel Brittain ELY.
My father, Richard Nye ELY, b. 08 Feb 1915 in Toledo, OH, s/o Cornelius ELY who was an industrialist and my G Grandfather, Hugh ELY fought in the Civil War. This is the branch that is said to have come from Lincolnshire after being forced out by Cromwell.
