James married Elizabeth FAWSITT and was a master cabinet maker in Boston as was his elder son, James. His brother, Joseph, born in 1820, went into the clothing business as did one or more Joseph's sons. The family belonged to St. Botolph and was active in the Boston area as late as the 1960's. The younger of James's sons, Charles Thomas, moved to Carlton in Nottinghamshire just after the 1881 census. He and his wife, Annie Lucy Gilliatt, eventually had 12 or 13 children. Some of his sons moved to other counties but some remained in Nottinghamshire. Two immigrated to the United States. I'm looking for the parents of the elder Joseph BEST, born in the late 1700's.
