GOODLEY
SURNAMES: GOODLEY, KIRBY, WILES
I am researching the GOODLEY Branch that came from Bourne. My line goes back
to John GOODLEY who married Hannah LENTON in Folkingham in 1791. On the license
application his age is given as 25 which makes him born in about 1766. I
cannot find his birth anywhere. His son John b to him and Hannah in 1791
- I believe he married Mary KIRBY in Uffington in 1816 - I have to prove
that yet.. I am looking for their descendants, other than those shown on
IGI. John Senior's other son William b 1793 Bourne. I believe he married
Elizabeth WILES in West Deeping in 1822.. I need to prove that and then I
wish to trace their descendants other than those shown on IGI. I believe
William became a farmer and publican in West Deeping. If that is so I have
a line of GOODLEYs that leads to a living family in Wisbech and Holbeach
area. I hope someone can help. If anybody else wants the gedcom files I have
they are welcome to a copy.

CLARK
SURNAMES; JOHNSON, THACKER
Charles JOHNSON and Emma THATCHER of Mareham Le Fen were my Grandmothers
parents. There were 13 children of this marriage and there are believed to
be three more children of a later 'union' after Emma committed suicide round
about 1930. Siblings were Annie, Florence, Richard, and James (place and
date of birth not known), Charles born in 1883 in Bardney, Charlotte born
October 18,1885 in Leverton, John 1887 in Stickney, William about 1889 in
Tattershall, Lucy about 1890 also at Tattershall, Emma born about 1893 later
married and settled in Great Ponton with Herbert Harris (happy childhood
visits there), Martha born in Oxcombe married to Fred Wright Coupland in
Stixwold and my Gran Louise, born at Oxcombe in 1900 and died this May (2001).
Louise was married to John William Willson son of Mary Ann Sleaford and William
John Willson. My Grandfather was a Carter and then Farm Manager in various
places - but always in sight of the Lincoln Cathedral, until enough money
was saved for a six acre Poultry Farm at North Hykeham I am keen to
learn what has happened to the JOHNSONs and whether there were three additional
children. Charles would have been in his seventies at this time and was a
Farm Foreman in the Oxcombe area.

SURNAME: SCHOLES
I'm looking for information regarding my grandmother's marriage. According
to the 1881 census, her dwelling was at 32 Scotgate.Census place Stamford
St John, Lincoln, Her father was John Thomas SCHOLES and an employee of the
Mercury newspaper. I don't know if that is the address of the "clock house",
but it is my understanding that is where she lived. I know very little of
my grandfather's background and wonder if they were married in Stamford and
when. My mother, their oldest child, was born in July of 1904 so that does
give an idea of approximately when they wed. I was hoping that I might find
some information regarding my grandfather on their marriage certificate.
Any help gratefully accepted.

SURNAME: ROBERTS
Information welcomed on Alderman Reuben ROBERTS J.P. of "Hallgarth", Thimbleby
and "Linden House", Horncastle and his sons. I estimate that he was born
in the early 1800's as I believe he had 2 sons i.e. Samuel R D ROBERTS and
Daniel ROBERTS who were 23 and 20 years old in 1866. He certainly had a daughter
who married a Mr Little and they had a son who became Canon A W R Little
of Blackpool who died in Oct 1932. I also believe that one of the sons of
Alderman ROBERTS died early when he had a young family in Lincolnshire. My
interest is that we have the diary of Daniel ROBERTS written when Samuel
and Daniel went to Australia in 1866 and returned to England in 1868. One
of the sons is very likely to be my wife's great grandfather.
