My gr-gr-grandmother, Charlotte BROWNLOW, was baptised at Hibaldstowe on 23 Oct. 1796, d/o Richard BROWNLOW & Sarah. They baptised 9 other children there between 1793 & 1809 - ie William, Robert Dudding, Sarah, Helen, Elizabeth, Charles, Mary Ann, Thomas and Edward. There is no relevant marriage of a Richard BROWNLOW to a Sarah in the IGI, but there is one to an *Elizabeth* DUDDING at Hatcliffe on 17 Nov 1788 - and given that the second child Richard & Sarah had baptised at Hibaldstowe (six weeks after his brother in 1793, possibly indicating that they had neglected to have him baptised previously!) was Robert Dudding BROWNLOW, it seems likely that this is the correct marriage. It is possible that they had children baptised in other parishes between marriage in 1788 and 1793. Charlotte BROWNLOW moved to South Cave ERY, where she married my gr-gr-grandfather Wilson BENTLEY in 1819, and she died at Beverley ERY before the 1881 census. I would be most grateful to receive any information about the origins and families of Richard BROWNLOW & Elizabeth/Sarah DUDDING.

#1189 - YVONNE GARRY
SURNAMES: GRANT, BAILEY, MURPHY
My great-great-grandfather, was a man by the name of WILLIAM GRANT, and he was born in the small village of Binbrook, I'd guess about 1799. He married an ANN BAILEY, born about 1807 in South Kelsey, I believe. They certainly had one son, named CHARLES, born c.1836 in Binbrook, Parish of St. Gabriel, and may have had an earlier son called WILLIAM (not sure about this). In the 1850's, WILLIAM obviously travelled up to London to attend the marriage of his boy, CHARLES to ELIZABETH MOLLETT MURPHY, because his name appears on their Marriage Certificate, and William gave his occupation as: Butcher.
I would very much like to discover anything of his early life in Binbrook, whether indeed he was the local Butcher in that village, and if his name and address appears in any Directory there. Also, his parentage would be of great interest should it be given in any of the records of the Parish.
