The 40-hour requirement for NHS service is completed in three stages, and encompasses four different categories of service. By the beginning of a students senior year the student must complete a 5-hour service project from each of the four categories.

Stage 1: Complete two of the categories during your junior year.
Stage 2: Complete the remaining two categories during the summer.
Stage 3: Complete a 20-hour service project in one of the categories your senior year.
