They are listed in 1880 Census as having his mother Eunice living with them, in Michigan. Caroline Julia BOON was supposed to have been born at Rock Island, Illinois(?) and given to the Boon family to raise [this according to family legend]. Listing on her death certificate is that she was born 12 Dec. 1850, at Sheboygan, but there is no proof for either. Any information on either person would be greatly appreciated. Kirkpatrick

George KIRKPATRICK and his wife Sarah STEPHENSON came to Shullburg, LaFayette Co., Wisconsin in 1849 with prob 5 of their children from Alston, Cumberland, (now Cumbria) England. He was a lead miner and came with his grown son George and his wife Jane (need her maiden name etc.). They very possibly came listed as Patrick and they appear this way in the 1850 federal census. A daughter Frances also came. Geo Sr. died aftera few years leaving property in Shullsburg to his wife Sarah but the will record in appears to not have been properly probated. In the 1860 census I cannot find them. George Jr. went into the Civil War in the 33rd Regiment, Wisconsin Vol. Infantry and was invalided out in 1863 and was sent home to die. Which he did. He left a son George Edmund Kirkpatrick who was my great grandfather. Did he leave another child named Anne or Annie? First George's widow is shown in the 1860 census with Annie. Geo Edmund was raised in a Soldier's Childrens Orphanage in Madison. Looking for any descendants of this family.
