Timer3 INSTALLATION
If using the internal battery, install a 12V 23A type battery, OBSERVING CORRECT
POLARITY (the positive (+) battery clip is indicated on the board), and wire
the unit with a power switch accordingly as shown above.
If using an external battery, wire the unit as shown above, OBSERVING CORRECT POLARITY.
Wire the 3 outputs. Switches in series with each pyrotechnic output is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
Mount the unit in your rocket WITH THE CORRECT ORIENTATION as shown above.
If you have a unit without the on-board Acceleration Switch, wire an external one accordingly.
The unit, on powerup, will evaluate the nornal state of the input, and thusly determine if your configuration
is Normally Closed (pull pin, or burn wire), or Normally Open (like the on-board Acceleration Switch).
Timer3 PROGRAMMING
When power is applied to the Timer3 while the Programming Push Button is pressed, the unit is in the Program Mode.
Upon releasing the Programming Push Button, the single beeps that the unit emits indicates that Timer Channel
#1 is ready to be programmed. Momentarily pressing the Programming Push Button (<300mS) will then cause double
beeps indicates that Timer Channel #2 is ready to be programmed. Again, momentarily pressing the
Programming Push Button (<300mS) will then cause triple beeps to indicate that Timer Channel #3 is ready to be
programmed. This can be cycled through all 3 timers.
Upon selection of the timer to be programmed, press the Programming Push Button for the interval (>=300mS) you
wish to program for that particular Timer Channel. Upon releasing the Programming
Push Button, the interval will be "beeped" out for that particular Channel.
At any time, while the unit is beeping out the Timer Channel that is ready to be programmed, the (normally
open) on-board Acceleration Switch can be momentarily shorted (or opened if configured with an external
Normally Closed Acceleration Switch) to have the unit beep out the programmed interval for all 3 Timer
Channels, starting with Timer Channel #1.
There is no way to "disable" a Timer Channel, other than not connecting it's output.
Timer3 USAGE
When power is applied to the Timer3 while the Programming Push Button is NOT pressed, the unit is in the Operational
Mode. Upon detection of 2.1Gs of continuous acceleration for 300 mSeconds, the unit will be armed, and
outputs will be activated after their programmed interval elapses, measured from
first detection of the 2.1G.
Each output will be activated for 300mS, and they can, if desired, be programmed to overlap.
