| Capture the Flag (CTF) started in Shorewood, Wisconsin this summer. As the games got larger and more people became involved, we realized the opportunity we would have this fall when several frequent players move off to college. In just a few months, people will be rooted in Madison, Chicago and St. Paul as well as Milwaukee. What if we could get CTF games going in each of those cities? This website will serve as an online organizational center. We will post sample flyers, contact information and game times and locations for any city interested. We hope that this website will help us keep in touch through the next year, and keep the games going! Please contact us if you are interested in getting a game going in your city (or do it yourself!). If you want to play, feel free to walk into the game nearest you. | |
| News Updates: | |
| August 30 | August 26's game was great fun -- we even had a reporter from the Journal Sentinel come by and do several interviews (unfortunately, the article will not be published). Lots of kids played, some saw the free movies (see below) and we ended the summer on a good note. Zac Witte has volunteered to coordinate the Milwaukee section of this website, as well as promising to come to all (or most) upcoming games. Come out this fall (and winter?) to play CTF!! |
| August 20 | On August 26, the UWM Union Cinema Theatre will screen two Wes Anderson films, "Bottle Rocket" and "Rushmore." Wes Anderson also directed "The Royal Tennenbaums," which will be screened August 27. The screenings are free, and "Bottle Rocket" happens to be at 7:00pm on Monday. It would be fun to see a movie and then play CTF... |
| August 20 | Yesterday's game was a great success -- upwards of 35 kids showed up throughout the night! We also had more captures than usual, making for a quicker game. Next Monday is probably the last game of the summer (for many of the college-bound players). If anyone plans on staying in Shorewood or Milwaukee and would like to keep CTF games going here, send us an email. |
| August 13 | Last night's game was, unfortunately, cancelled at 10:00pm due to lack of interest. Thanks to the 13 kids who showed up despite rain and lightning. Next Monday is still planned for UWM. Bring some friends -- we only have a few games left! |
| August 12 | This website can now be reached at ctf.gb2.net!! |
| August 11 | We've added a links page--there really aren't many websites for CTF out there, but we've found some interesting variations (and other weird sites) that, at the very least, sort of relate to CTF. |
| August 10 | Be sure to press your "reload" button often, as the site gets updated every few days (and the "next game" box won't be accurate unless you reload!). |
| July 31 | We are looking for contacts and web-people to help organize things both in real life and online. If you have *any* HTML knowledge and will be in either Milwaukee, Chicago, Madison or St. Paul and will participate in CTF (and have a little extra time), please email the webfella. If you don't know HTML but otherwise fit that description, we need you to help organize. |
| July 31 | Site up! Get ready for Monday's game!! |
