Steve's Baseball Card Trading Page

Last Updated: October 1, 2008

Hi. My name is Steve Etzel and this is my baseball card trading page. I've been collecting cards since about 1971 and have all those that I bought back in the good old days. I am a member of Vintage Card Traders.

Collecting Interests
My main collecting focus is vintage Topps baseball cards. More specifically, I collect the following:

  1. Completing sets in these years: 1970, 1971, 1972 (upgrades), 1973, 1974, 1975, and 1977.
  2. Pittsburgh Pirates cards from all years (Topps, Bowman, Fleer, and others).
  3. World Series cards.
  4. League Leader cards.
  5. Some interest in "oddball" Pittsburgh Pirates stuff (inserts, coins, food premiums, etc.).
  6. Roberto Clemente, Wille Stargell, Bill Mazeroski, Dave Parker cards.
  7. Football: Pittsburgh Steelers cards.
  8. Hockey: Pittsburgh Penguins cards.
  9. Basketball: Pittsburgh Condors cards.

I generally prefer to trade common for common and star for star, but will consider all proposed trades. My target condition is generally solid EX or EX-MT, depending on the set. I will try to specify the condition I'm looking for in the Want section. Centering is fairly important, as is a lack of creases. Sharp corners are less important as long as I know what I'm getting. This list is no where near complete, but I will continue to update it. Due to my limited free time, the best way to complete a trade with me is to propose the trade and I'll respond.

Available to Trade [Pending trades are indicated by numbers in brackets]

1956 Topps Baseball (Available to Trade)

I have several of these, both white backs and grey backs. Condition is mostly G to VG, but some are better. Some stars are available... I would be most interested in trading these for pre-1965 Clemente cards or other pre-1960 Pirates of comparable condition/value.
Trade Bait: Contact me for list or availability of a specific card.
Stars/semi-stars available for trade for comparable pre-1960 Pirates cards: 11(Cubs, WB, VG, no date/left, slight "yellowing"), 85(Indians, WB, date, VG-). Scans available on request.

1961 Topps Baseball (Available to Trade)

41 LL (VG/VG+), 48 LL (VG/VG+), 406 Mantle HR (nice card but OC and paper loss on 2 corners)

1963 Topps Baseball (Available to Trade)

World Series card: 145 G-VG

1964 Topps Baseball (Available to Trade)

World Series cards: 139 G-VG, 140 EX+
