To encourage settlement in New England A colony was begun in New Hampshire in 1623, and this settlement at Hilton Point (Dover) by Edward and William Hilton became the first permanent settlement in New Hampshire, as Pannaway was abandoned after a year or so.

He was the grandson of Col. Winthrop
Hilton. Who was killed June 1710. And who
Was grandson Edward Hilton. The first 
Settler of New Hampshire in 1623

Andrew Hilton A great grandson of
Col. Winthrop Hilton. Who was killed 
June 1710 and who was the grandson

Deborah Hilton, Wife of Andrew Hilton
Daughter of  Col. Samuel Gilman.
Born March 6, 1707 Died Feb. 8, 1836
