My Flag
By Janson Roy Merchant

Nothing makes me more proud
It makes my heart beat so loud
The red, white stripes and stars blue
The sun shining right on through
A reminder of who I am
A symbol with meaning in any land
Thirteen strips not up and down
One visible in every town
A shining beacon of the free
Nine rolls of stars - five and six
Wind making noisy chicks
Waving from a pole high a top
God has surely blessed this cloth
Perfection in every stitch
Honored by poor and rich
Beauty stretched out in flight
To preserve with all my might
White stars together in sky of blue
Presiding high above the morning dew
With it gone, no reason to wake
Ross created for human sake
Blue touching eight stripes -
Four white four red
For it many fought and many more lay dead
Appearance changed many times
Gracefully up the poll it climbs
Below the blue, three strips red
Three white
Patriotic versus - classrooms daily recite
Never to touch the ground
Envy of the world around
Stripes due left - stars up right
All come down every night.
