My hobby is epitaphs.
What is an epitaph you ask? -
Ep.i.taph - an inscription on a tomb or monument in memory of the dead. I wrote
them down as I saw them, misspelling and all. On some of the headstones I
couldn't make out a few of the words because time and weather has faded them. I
hope you have as much fun reading them as I have collecting them.
There is no Death! What seems so is transitions: This life of mortal breath Is but a suburb of the life elysian Who so portal we call death.God in his wisdom has recalled the boon his love, had given and through the body moulders here The soul is save in heaven. Died - Aug. 5,1891 12 years
Thy gentle voice now is hushed Thy warm true heart is still and on thy young and innocent brow is resting deaths cold chill. Died - April 7, 1906 22 years, 10 months 10 days
DaWayne, wise beyond his years with body weak and frail. His spirit that was locked there in is freed from mortal jail. So now the loan of him to us must have the instrest paid By now our living just the way he did one day the father who took him home will give him back again. Then he won't be ours just on load but ours eternal then. Oct. 19, 1937 - Feb. 14, 1986
Happy infant, early blest Rest in peaceful slumber, rest April 17, 1894 7 months, 5 days
