V e n u s  t r a n s i t

On June 8, 2004, the Venus transit was visible for about an hour and 10 minutes from bluff overlooking Lake Michigan, about 18 miles north of Milwaukee. The unusual heat of the early morning generated haze - a natural solar filter that made the "sunrise with a dot" a colorful spectacle. This image was made with a Nikon D100 and a 300mm f/4 lens.
