Setup with a Nikkor 800mm f/5.6

My job at a newspaper gives me conditional access to some exotic lenses, like this Nikkor 800mm f/5.6 lens. I fabricated a cradle that holds it and an ETX 90 firmly onto a standard Losmandy dovetail plate. It tracks quite nicely once it is polar aligned with accuracy. And yes, I DO know that my fence needs painting. This is an eight second exposure taken on January 16, 2003 in Whitefish Bay, Wis. It was five degrees F. at about 6:30 am. and much darker than the image suggests. |
