It was like sitting on the edge of the galaxy, which in fact, we were. At the Sunglow Ranch, more than a mile above sea level, the Milky Way arched overhead like a golden band of light moving slowly and silently across the sky. Joining me at this pristine location were some wonderful companions, Jeff Ball, Saul Moroz and George Walker. Jeff Ball took photos with his Astrophysics traveler and Saul and George observed with a C-11 and a pair of Fuji 150mm binoculars. Looking at deep sky from this site through a pair of six-inch binoculars was astounding. Thanks very much, George and Saul.

This is a one-hour exposure on Kodak Gold 400 using a Nikon 16mm fisheye lens at f5.6.

A mouse over will show the view in the opposite direction, showing the Sunglow Ranch facilities.
