The Orion Nebula, in a combination of three 4-minute exposures using a Nikon D100 and a Nikon 300mm f/2.8 lens and a 2x teleconverter for a focal length of 600mm. The camera was set at ISO 200 with noise reduction on. The image was shot as a TIF file, at 17.2 megabytess and color balanced for sunshine. It was taken on December 26, 2003 from a light-polluted suburb of Milwaukee.
