The showpiece galaxy M-31 in Andromeda is seen in an image combined from a 40-minute and a one-hour exposure using a Nikon 300mm f/2.8 lens and a 2x teleconverter and E200 slide film processed normally. It was shot from a dark sky site at Harrington Beach State Park, about 40 miles north of Milwaukee.
