Sgt. Matthew Gadzalinski, of Milwaukee, was photographed as he led his platoon through Iraq during the first days of the invasion.  The coverage was not planned. During the invasion, I looked at hundreds of Iraq pictures each day and read all the captions. No one warns the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel if pictures of local interest are on the wire. Because I spotted Gadzalinski early in the news cycle, our newspaper was able to get reaction from his family in the same edition.
