This is NGC7789, an open cluster off an arm of Cassiopeia. The cluster is wide with a low surface brightness and looks evenly lit in larger apertures. This is a combination of two exposures on E200 from a light-polluted location in Whitefish Bay, Wis., in July of 2003. One exposure was with a 300 mm lens and a 1.4 teleconverter at f/4. Exposure time was about 15 minutes. The second exposure was about half an hour with a 300mm lens and a 2x nikkor teleconverter. The images were scaled, aligned and layered in Photoshop.
