This three-minute exposure, using a Nikon Coolpix 5700 digital camera, shows my astrophotography setup using a Nikkor 300mm f/2.8 lens and a 2x Nikkor extender mounted on a Losmandy G11 mount. It is guided by a SBIG ST-4 using a 60mm f/11.4 refractor (purchased in 1966, a birthday present when I was 11 years old.). The guidescope was retrofitted with a 1.25 focuser.

The mount is low to permit use with a 10 inch-reflecting telescope.  The G-11 rests on a home-built and very rigid plywood base that gives the mount a wide footprint. At the moment, the camera was in a time exposure of the Andromeda galaxy on July 25, 2003.
