AB9BI's Ham Radio, Firearms, and Politics Page
| Thanks for visiting my homepage. I'm Jason, AB9BI. (AB9BI is my ham radio station callsign. Many hams refer to themselves with their callsigns because that's how other hams recognize them.) My hobbies are amateur (ham) radio, guns, and politics. I'm also a Christian so I'll probably have some articles on religion soon. Uh-oh! I'm in violation of the "rule of three" at parties: Never talk about politics, religion, or sex. While I disregard two of the three admonitions, you will not see any sex on this page. In all fairness, I demonstrate considerable candor on this page but I will be tactful. I pledge to maintain a gentlemanly composure with regard to the content on this site and I would not be embarrassed if my pastor were to view it. |
As everybody else, I am very busy with the various activities in my life. My family (wife and two boys) take up the most of my time away from work (and rightly so!). They're important and although I would have more time for these hobbies without them, my life would be very empty. I am thankful to be so blessed with my loving wife and two wonderful boys.
I was first licensed KB0VSZ in 1996 as a Technician and have since upgraded to Amateur Extra. I recently returned from a government-sponsored DX-pedition (that is, I was deployed with my National Guard unit) to Kuwait and made a few contacts. I am interested in contesting and DXing but haven't done much with either.
I'm also a collector of fine military arms. Specifically, 20th century American military firearms. I'm interested in competition shooting and general medium-range marksmanship. Of course, I am an avid supporter of the Second Amendment (and the rest of the Constitution), which is where the interest in armchair politics started.
Here's my vision for these pages: They are a place where I can publish personal articles, links, and whatnot and also have a forum for discussion. For example, if someone reads one of the articles that I've posted on this page and wishes to comment or rebut, I welcome emails to me for that purpose. I would like to post your comments as well!
